As a team submission to the 2025 CreateSC Designathon, the task was to design and prototype an app that digitizes tangible experiences within a 24 hour time period.
Inspired by memories of dress-up games and the famous digital closet scene from “Clueless”, our team wanted to create a modern version that brings a sense of novelty to the idea of keeping track of the clothes within users’ closets.
Before beginning the design process, our team conducted user surveys to gain insight into what our target demographic is looking for when it comes to personal fashion curation.
Our initial idea was to create an app that helps users find clothing more easily online by being able to plan un-purchased outfit pieces within their pre-existing closet, and streamlining online e-commerce by helping users sift through unreliable brands or listings.
However, from the survey results, many users were not interested in purchasing new clothes. Instead, our team decided to focus the goal of the app towards what users already own.
.exe allows users to have a space to catalog their favorite outfits and features three methods of uploading clothing items—photos, camera roll, and from online links. After uploading, users can use their digital closet to create outfit mood boards and digital try-ons.
