Brief

Doughterty's work was selected for the Propel Poetry Series with Nine Mile Press, which aims to highlight the voices of poets who have disabilities. Working with the publisher and author, this project's main objective was to design a book cover, typeset the poem book, and to design a bookmark.

Direction

The design for the cover and the bookmark is influenced by Dougherty's observations of fleetingness.

Poems such as "My Realistic Eye" and "Dead Tree Garden" were pieces that stood out to deeply resonate with this notion. As an observer, Dougherty acknowledges each perceived transitory moment as fleeting, while also permanently encapsulating these instances within her work.
